An Admission & An Annoyance — By: John Hood

The New Hampshire Union Leader’s coverage of President Obama’s visit to the state yesterday lead off with the main news of the day:

President Barack Obama admitted today that his closed-door meetings on health care with Democratic congressional leaders should have been televised on C-SPAN and he said he would keep his campaign promise for more open negotations the next time around.

But then also included this little nugget:

In addition to using the TARP funds for community bank lending to small businesses, Obama wants to coax small businesses to hire more workers by giving employers a credit of up to $5,000 against their payroll taxes for every net new employee they hire in 2010 and by giving businesses a bonus 6.2 percent tax credit on aggregate wage growth in excess of inflation.

His plans are subject to congressional approval.

Yes, they are. That’s what’s been annoying our Ersatz Haderach for months now.
